Recapitulare: it și what
It was Maria who found the mistake.
What I need is a long holiday.
Alte începuturi: all, the thing, the reason
|---|---|
| All (that)… | All I want is a bit of peace and quiet. |
| The thing (that)… | The thing that worries me is the cost. |
| The reason (why)… | The reason why I called is to apologise. |
| The person who… | The person who helped me most was my teacher. |
| The place where… | The place where we met was a tiny café. |
| The day / time when… | The day when everything changed was a Tuesday. |
All I want is… înseamnă „Tot ce vreau e…, numai atât”. Verbul după all este la singular: All I need is…
Accent pe o acțiune: what … did was…
What we did was call the police.
What you should do is talk to her.
What happened was that the train broke down.
Corectezi o idee: it's not that…
It's not that I don't like him; it's just that we have nothing in common.
It wasn't until midnight that they arrived.
Abia la miezul nopții au sosit.
Propoziții inversate
Poți pune partea importantă la început: A long holiday is what I need. That's why I called. This is where we met.
