Verbe frazale la C1
La B2 ai învățat verbele frazale cu trei părți și cele separabile (B2, Lecția 29). La C1 contează două lucruri: să cunoști verbele frazale mai abstracte, folosite în discuții și articole, și să știi când să le înlocuiești cu un verb formal.

Formal sau informal?
Verbele frazale nu sunt neapărat informale: carry out a study apare și în texte științifice. Dar în stil foarte formal (rapoarte, scrisori oficiale) verbul de origine latină sună mai potrivit:

Verbe frazale de discuție
- point out (a sublinia): She pointed out that the figures were wrong.
- rule out (a exclude): We can't rule out the possibility.
- account for (a explica; a reprezenta): Women account for 60% of students.
- back up (a susține cu dovezi): Can you back up your claim?
- stem from (a proveni din): The problem stems from poor management.
Young people account for a third of the population.
Tinerii reprezintă o treime din populație.
