Adjective compuse
Multe adjective de caracter sunt compuse: adjectiv + substantiv + -ed:
open-minded, narrow-minded, short-tempered, kind-hearted, big-headed (îngâmfat), thick-skinned (care nu se supără ușor), strong-willed (cu voință puternică)
Cum atenuezi o critică
La C1 nu spui direct He's lazy. Folosești atenuarea (Lecțiile 18 și 44):
- He can be a bit…: He can be a bit disorganised.
- He tends to…: She tends to interrupt people.
- not the most…: He's not the most patient person.
- rather / slightly: She's rather reserved.
He's not the most organised person, but he's incredibly creative.
Nu e cel mai organizat om, dar e incredibil de creativ.
