Adjectivul și prepoziția lui
Multe adjective se folosesc mereu cu aceeași prepoziție. Trebuie să le înveți împreună:
| Prepoziția | Adjective | Exemplu |
|---|---|---|
| of | afraid, proud, jealous, tired, fond, scared | She's afraid of spiders. |
| about | worried, nervous, excited, upset | We're worried about the exam. |
| at | good, bad, brilliant, terrible | He's good at maths. |
| in | interested | I'm interested in history. |
| on | keen, focused | He's keen on football. |
| with | angry, bored, pleased, satisfied | She's angry with me. |
| to | married, similar, kind, rude | He's married to my cousin. |
| for | famous, responsible, ready | The town is famous for its cheese. |
I'm very proud of my daughter.
Sunt foarte mândră de fiica mea.
He's jealous of his brother.
Este gelos pe fratele lui.
She's tired of working late every night.
S-a săturat să lucreze târziu în fiecare seară.
După prepoziție
După o prepoziție folosești un substantiv, un pronume sau un verb cu -ing (A2, Lecția 45):
I'm good at cooking.
Mă pricep la gătit.
She's afraid of flying.
Îi este frică să zboare.
Nu folosești infinitivul cu to după prepoziție: nu spune I'm good at to cook.
Cu cine și la ce
Unele adjective schimbă prepoziția după ce urmează:
- angry with o persoană, angry about un lucru: She's angry with me about the mistake.
- good at o activitate, good to o persoană (amabil): He's good at tennis. He's good to his staff.
