Past Simple este timpul trecut simplu: vorbești despre ceva terminat în trecut. Aici înveți cum spui că ceva nu s-a întâmplat și cum întrebi despre trecut.
Forma negativă: didn't
Negația la trecut se face cu didn't (did not) + verbul în forma de bază, pentru toate persoanele:
I didn't go to work yesterday.
Ieri nu am mers la serviciu.
She didn't like the film.
Nu i-a plăcut filmul.
We didn't see Tom.
Nu l-am văzut pe Tom.
Întrebări: Did…?
Întrebarea începe cu Did + subiect + verbul în forma de bază:

Excepția: was / were
Cu verbul to be nu folosești did (Lecția 68):
