too și enough

Ce vei învăța

Să spui că ceva e prea mult: too hot, too expensive.
Să spui că ceva e destul sau nu: big enough, not old enough.
Să folosești enough înaintea unui substantiv: enough time.

too: prea

too + adjectiv = „prea”. Arată că e mai mult decât trebuie și de obicei e o problemă:

This coffee is too hot. I can't drink it.

Cafeaua e prea fierbinte. Nu pot s-o beau.

The jeans are too small for me.

Blugii sunt prea mici pentru mine.

Poți adăuga ce nu se poate face, cu to + verb:

It's too cold to swim.

E prea frig ca să înoți.

enough: destul, suficient

Cu un adjectiv, enough stă după el:

Is the room big enough?

E camera destul de mare?

He isn't old enough to drive.

Nu e destul de mare ca să conducă.

Cu un substantiv, enough stă înainte:

We've got enough time.

Avem destul timp.

There aren't enough chairs.

Nu sunt destule scaune.
